reflection
I loved doing this one-on-one interview with these students! I interviewed 3 students and chose this interview because she was very in depth and clear with her answers. I learned that even for a 2nd grader, she understood concepts of real life situations. She knows that what she is learning now will help her become an Archaeologist or a Scientist. She also understands the importance of a good education, as well. Kala (education alias) loves to read! After the interview was completed, she continued on about how much she loved to read. She said that she has a "huge library" in her house and her family goes to the local public library weekly to get new books for her to read. During my Reading lesson, Kala was always the first one to answer questions and was always excited to read aloud along with me. She expresses that she loves going to school but struggles with telling time. She also expressed that she loved science which was why she wanted to become a scientist. I absolutely loved conducting these interviews! It's a great way to get to know the students, as well as targeting their weak points and helping them overcome them.
